Trail 2 poi shift? Do they?

One of the easiest ways I have found to test the cold weather POI shift is to turn the scope on and shoot a group, then lay an athletic ice pack around the scope for 15 minutes (the soft flexible ones), and then shoot a group. If it stays, it has a pretty good chance of holding the POI in cold weather. When running this test, my Flir PTS scopes and my Bering thermals did not move, but my Pulsar Trail scopes all moved including ones Pulsar said were fixed. However, I have not tested a Thermion, Thermion 2, or Trail2. As I have stated many times, I have asked Pulsar to send me scopes on numerous occasions so I could verify, and they said they don't send out demo or test scopes. They have told Night Goggles/me, we would have to buy it to test it. If Pulsar sends some to me, I would be happy to test this.

I've stuck my entire upper in the freezer before once pulled it out in 100 percent humidity there is a rather significant icing affect on the lenses lol. Should have plenty of warranty left to test it in the cold. If it shifts I'm not sure what I do next. I guess try a Thermion or Super Yoter if they ever get released.

I plan on upgrading soon but getting so many choices and let the new bering come out before I decide. I've been using a thermion XM 38 for 2 years with no POI shift. I have a 4 year old RXQ 30 that's never changed except the first year I hit default not knowing what I was doing. Of course a coyote showed up and I missed. Took a little research to figure that out. Those trails would be beyond frustrating.

On the contrary, Bering was not planning on producing a 640 thermal scope. However, their 384 res thermals have been so popular, customers continued to ask until they finally said OK, we will take a look at creating one. They only recently began work on the Super Yoter - R. They haven't been out talking it up or marketing it as so many companies do. I knew they were planning to work on this because Bering wanted my feedback on what I, and Night Goggles customers, would like to see in a 640 scope.

Based on some of these conversations with Bering, I have answered a few questions on the potential of the Super Yoter in the last few months. It isn't like Bering announced this a long time ago and is being slow to develop this. The Predator Master's Community was privy to this potential a lot earlier than most of the Industry. I am hopeful to see a prototype in the next month but there is nothing guaranteed.

... so Bering Optics has 2 prototypes in the pipeline with Vox 640x512@12micron sensor, NETD< 40 mK and lens with a focal length of 50 mm:

1) Super Yoter-C which will be a clip-on similar to the Infiray CH50;

2) Super Yoter-R similar to the thermal riflescope Infiray Rico RH50.

This is great news. The more models enter the global market, the more the level of competitiveness increases and the quality improves ... Competition is good for us old hunters, because costs are lowered. Hopefully they can have a rechargeable Lithium battery instead of the expensive disposable CR123 batteries ...

I'm implying there isn't a lot of info out on the Super Yoter but if one comes out I am going to be interested if this trail 2 doesn't pan out. I can't deal with poi shift any longer. I take my coyote killing way to serious to have any slip through my fingers.

As I indicated, I will be hopefully testing a prototype of the Super Yoter - R in the next month.

I liked the Pulsar battery packs, but for every person that likes it, there is a person who doesn't want to be limited to a battery pack that is made by only one company. If the model is discontinued and the manufacturer doesn't make them anymore, a user may be in trouble. The Pulsar packs were/are good but a bit expensive. I have just become accustomed to using an external battery pack. They are much cheaper, and more readily available. However, you still have one cord to manage. On a gun, the battery pack isn't much of an issue, on a scanner, it is a little less convenient, but I still run an external when scanning for long periods of time.

Please do me, my marriage, my daughter in college and my savings account a favor and tell us the image is terrible and it won’t zero when you get it. Lol
