Trapping & Calling

Has anyone trapped and called in the same location immediately after a successful catch? I have a scenario where cover is extremely thick and Im wondering if uncaught coyotes may be hanging around their caught half.

I used to run a line on the Thief River in MN. My partner would drop me off in the morning and I ran the river and he ran a land line and picked me up at a down stream bridge at night. I trapped fox on the banks and raccoon, beaver, mink and muskrats. On slow days where I knew I would be at the bridge early I would call fox in openings along the river. It wasn't real productive but an occasional $100 fox was a pleasant addition.

Even if it isn't real productive any additional fur is a pleasant bonus. A calling stand is never a bad idea.

Not exactly what your asking, but you have nothing to lose but a bit of time.

I have not, but I have had coyotes barking at me while I’m taking care of a caught coyote. Wasn’t really into calling then, but that set produced 2 more over the next three checks.

I've had the reverse happen. I've called locations where I had traps and the next day had catches. When I had caught one and reset that location, there were times I had catches the next day. I have not had the opportunity to hunt a location after a catch but if I did, I certainly would without hesitation.
