Treeing bobs?

I need some advice. I have a 4 year old West Siberian Laika. Great tree dog. Never saw a squirrel she didn't hate ( no squirrel jokes please ) and she is equally p-o'ed at hogs. She's "accidentally" treed a few stray tomcats hanging around my house in the past when I let them out of a live trap.

We have a lot of land with bobcats on it and I'd really be interested in getting her to tree a bobcat whenever possible. I'm just not sure how to get her interested in doing so. Would working her with stray cats be anything in the way of starting her?

Any help would be appreciated.

This is a public forum and I think all of us would advise you not to use stray cats because that would be concidered animal abuse and is against the law.

Are you really a GW? Then if you are a Game Warden then you know how many laws you would be breaking wouldnt you.

She does indeed hate feral cats and no, I'm not using them. My sarcasm font was not locked on.

Feral cats are, however not protected under any law (pets are) and they are one of the greatest threat to small game populations. They also carry diseases and populate faster than rabbits.

Here's the thing. I asked the question hoping someone who knew something about the subject would answer and help me out. And think you for doing so.

I didn't ask the question for people who dont know beans from coonsh#t about it to jump, point, scream or accuse. That is my number one complaint about online communication. There is always someone waiting for the "gotcha" moment so that when someone slips up, stubs their toe or farts in church they are right there to waive the flag, point fingers an generally be an a$$.

Please do not play morally or ethically superior for killing "wild" bobcats and not feral cats. I submit to anyone that a feral cat is as wild as any bob in the country.

A cat is a cat. A dog is a dog and a horse is a horse. You can take the anal glands from a ferral dog and make just as good of gland scent as you can from a coyote and the same goes for ferral cats vs bobcat or lion. My dogs will chase a cat and it does not matter what cat it is.
Now what you do with a House cat is your business, but like I said before anyone on here is smart enough to tell you not to use one. It is still against the law.
My advise to anyone trying to train a cat dog would be to go to Grawes animal lures and get you a good training scent and train your dog. Or buy you a good cat dog, you will be money ahead.

My "2 cents", and that is just what they are worth, if it is legal where you live to hunt "feral cats", have at it. if not, don't post it where the whole world can see it.

You may think it is fare game but let the media get ahold of you chasin a ferral cat with dogs and see how that goes for you. lol Ask the guys in Califonia. And they were chasin Bears not ferral cats. Ferral Cat = HOUSE CAT with out a home. They will twist it around until they have the story something like this...... Man in Texas in jail now for having his dogs chase and kill a little old lady's pet of 10 long years. This cat was the old ladys only reason for living. The Mans dogs stretched the poor little cat in front of a woman coming out of chruch with her 5 young children. KIds are now in theropy with the little old woman.
Man you guys really need to be a little careful. A wild animal is one thing but a domestic animal that has gone wild or not is still a domestic animal. And that is how the public is going to see it. Fact
