Trimming Brass w/Lyman Universal Case Trimmer Question

I was fortunate enough to acquire all of my reloading equipment in one shot from someone who had passed. In this "kit" was a lot of old, but amazingly quality equipment.

One item was the Lyman Universal Case Trimmer. It's pretty old, it's actually very dark green in color and not orange like the newer ones.

My question is, is it better for some reason to use the trimmer manually or would it be more beneficial for me to purchase the power adapter to use on the trimmer?

Go with the power version. I converted mine when neck turning brass by simply removing the crank and inserting hex head screw in place of the original screw. Then use a nut driver in an electric screwdriver. Not sure if the older versions built the same as the one I had, though.

Wow HM, thanks! My boy even asked me last night if there was a way that we could rig it up and I told him no. Of course I'm going to tell him that I thought of this idea. LOL I hope that you don't mind. But seriously, I'll have to give that a try instead of spending the $27 on the power attachment. I just picked up an old corded drill at a yard sale a few weeks back. So that'll be just perfect.
