Triple this morn (black coyote) w/action pics

Byron, That is really, really cool. Looks like they all came out on the same trail. Not bad for a "lefty". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for sharing...

Tony

Byron, what is that hanging on a strap? Would you every consider hunting and making a video about hunting in the east? Not east Texas, but like Pa, NJ, MD, or NY? The real east coast. These coyotes are tough and I'm getting older fast! You are a good coyote hunter!!!!!!!!! As Petejc, pointed out about your cap. Maybe a few of us can take up a collection and buy you a nice cap.

As always, impressed with your prowess.
For you guys knocking his hat. When Samsons hair was cut he lost his abilitys. Just sayin' /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Byron I have been considering one of the Coyote scopes still have not been able to find one but its good to know that even lefthanders like us can use them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hyper,

Didn't skin any of them. They were prety rough. This is the forth black one I've killed and already have one black one mounted.

Weasel,

That my friend is a brand new, fancy dancy, new fangled cap designed to have that lived in look /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Thanks for noticing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

4949,

It may be tonight or tomorrow before I can finish my review. I will try and include photos taken looking through the scope.

Pete,

Thanks for the kind words. I know we have lots of coyote, but I wish (sometimes)we had 1/10th the amount some think we do.

Tony,

But I'm right handed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif. The game wardens around here won't let me shoot right handed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. They say it gives me an unfair advantage /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Justshoot,

I think you are looking at my sling. My rifle is sitting on a pair of shooting sticks.

To all,

Thanks for the kind words. MY HAT IS BRAND NEW!!!Thanks for noticing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

This hunt and many more will be on my next video. Everything I've shot this season was shot on a high end HD camera. The quality is incredible. The finished product will be available in two formats, DVD and Blue-Ray. For those of you with an HD TV you are in for a treat.

Thanks again,

Good Hunting, and God Bless,

Thanks Rick.

As to the black coyotes. I've seen quite a few over the years and been fortunate enough to have taken four. All of these have been in East Texas. I hesitate to estimate the total number of coyotes I've seen over the years but this number is way up there. Without exception all of the black coyotes I've seen have come from the eastern half of the country. The North South line where they start to appear is from East Texas north and goes all the way to the East coast. Many of these coyotes have the white patch on their chest. Some have bigger patches of white than others. I'm convinced they are 100% coyote (at least the ones I have seen), but just a different color phase. We not only have black ones but also color variances as well. I've seen them from almost white to almost black, and every thing in between. I've even shot a couple that were strawberry blonde. If you keep up with black bears you will notice that there are regions within their range that have higher populations of off color phase bears. These color phases in bears range from blondes to cinnamon to black. Heck, I've even seen black squirrels. This has been covered here on PM before. If anyone is interested you can do a search for more information.

Fantastic as always.
I would say that Nikon made a good decision in picking you up. Less than a month and already have a triple using their product.

Great pictorial Byron. It is always exciting seeing that black one, I have been fortunite enough to see a few in the east Texas area and have taken two myself.
