TRIPOD... TRICLAWPS OR BOG-POD FOR D760 NV

FOLKS ... Need a tripod for the D760 NV rifle scope. will be shooting a AR15 223 CAL 16 inch barrel gun.

Question... I am leaning towards the TRICLAWPS TRIPOD OVER THE BOG-POD because the TRICLAW CLAMPS TO GUN. Seems like it will be more secure while shooting at night. triclaw is 350.00 and BOG-POD DECKED OUT is about 160.00 or so. your thoughts please. thanks. marty

Whoa..... Hold on bud. Your screwing yourself. Buy the bogpod for $100 and simply buy the triclawps head and put it on the bogpod. Here's the bogpod with my own clamp. You can put anyone you like on there from the hog saddle to the triclawps or whatever

GOOD IDEA. I was not sure if the clamp would only fit triclaw tripod. clamp is 100.00 i need to buy the triclaw head for 150.00 also do u think the clamp will fit right on the bog-pod from the there factory ? i wonder if the clamp would fit vanguard camera head mount like the one i use for my spotting scope ? thanks for saving me at least 100.00 marty

The bog pod and pretty much any standard tripod has 1/4-20 threaded stud to mount a device to. You can use that or move up to a tripod head which generally uses that stud to attach the head to. Then a quick release plate type or many others can be used. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_head

Bogpod has there own version of a grip action ball head for around $70 too. I simply used an old ball head I had and fitted it with the quick change switcharoo stem that bogpod uses.

GREAT.. so it sounds like i can use a vanguard tripod head and then attach the triclaw to that and then mout all of that to the BOG-POD TRIPOD STICKS. OR I can buy the BOG -POD STICKS AND THE BUY A BOG-POD and then attach triclaw clamp too it. thanks again. marty
