Troy alpha battle rail, will it fit over a lo pro gas block?

I'm looking at buying a Troy alpha battle rail fft. But Idk if it will fit over my low pro gas block. Idk if I need to get the 12" that will stop before the gb or if I can get the 15" and have it go over the gb.

Also, I have a cmmg fft on now that screws on. I will have to buy a standard barrel nut to fit the Troy fft. Correct?

Any other ideas for a small diameter free float tube? Mine is 2" OD. I would like a 1.5" to 1.75" tube with a top rail only.

The 15" should fit over it just fine and yes you will need a standard barrel nut. You will like the troy handguards.

I have one and like it. It's on a 16" with mid length gas, it covers the block by a few inches. IIRC it's 13.8" for mid, 11" for carbine, 15" for rifle and are meant to cover the lo-pro block.

How long is your gas system and barrel? If you'd like some measurements I can look when I get home.

I have one as well, 11" on a 16" barrel. I love the feel of it compared to anything else I tried. I bought a troy low profile gas block for mine since I had a talk railed block.

My gas system is about 13" long and the gas block is about 1.30" top to bottom. The barrel is a bull barrel at probably .8"+ OD and 24" long. I'll check when I get home.

I think my dad may have purchased (for my birthday next week) a Midwest industries gen 2 ss 15". It's OD is 1.5". Will this work with my gas block?

Does anyone have the MI GEN II ss (super slim is what I think the ss means) on a bull barrel AR?

I have 3 Troy rails mounted on standard barrel nuts, one 11" Vtac over a LW Spike's midi & two 13" Alpha's over a 16" fluted 5.56 & a 16' 7.62x39. I've mounted one on a buddy's PSA upper by cutting off the delta ring & grinding down the sight post with a dremal tool, took about an hour or so. All he bought was the Alpha rail - worked great. Was thing about the new UTG Pro key-mod in 15" for my next build - super cheap & solid.

Thanks. Yes. It's a set screw gas block. Super low profile. But my barrel is .925" I think. I measured it with calipers yesterday but can't remember.

It's going to be close on the bottom.

You failed to mention that it was a bull barrel, haha. That changes things. It's going to be really close. I'd personally get a bigger handguard like a Seekins MCSR, AP Customs Carbon Fiber, or other light-weight handguards with a bigger ID.

It's on its way so, I'll try it out and see if it fits. I've measured everything and think it's going to be really close on the bottom.

I posted that it was a bull barrel on my second post. lol

And the reason I want the new tube is for the small diameter. I finally found a pic today of a AR with a bull barrel and the same ff tube I ordered. It worked on his gun. I hope it works on mine.

Thanks for all the info guys.
