I recently bought a new shotgun and put in a cylinder choke that came with it. We hunt mainly pheasants with the occasional pigeon out of a barn of abandon house when hunting is poor. I have traditionally used an improved cylinder constriction, but this gun came with cylinder, improved modified, and full, so I went with cylinder. My best patterns are with #5 shot at 1200 fps or so. My dad and I went out before it snowed a few days ago and the birds were spooky. We got plenty of shooting in, but once they hit the 40 yard or a little less area, they would not drop. You could see them flinch and sometimes even go down shortly after, but still ran off. Most of the time we don't have much of the longer range shooting, but do run into it with pressured birds. I saw that TruGlo makes an adjustable choke that goes from cylinder to extra full with a quick twist. Reviews online look good too. I hate the idea of a pocket full of chokes and wrenches, and like the idea of an adjustable choke. Anyone have one or have and experience with them?
