Truck bedliner ?

I just recently bought a new truck and am looking at spray on type bedliners instead of plastic. I have always had the plastic type, I like the slots for 2x4's and 2x6's to keep the load from shifting but on this one I want to try a sprayon, do you have any pro's/con's on sprayon vs plastic, and what are some good sprayon liners and how durable are they, also how do they clean up. I usually end up useing my truck during deer season to run deer into the check station for the whole camp (sometimes 12 to 14)and it gets pretty messy at times. Thanks Rick
 
I have Line-X and really like it. It is very durable, cleans up well, and also has a lifetime warranty. You can't go wrong with a sprayon in my opinion.

Rhino, Arma, and Line-X type are the best for 99.9% of applications. They're expensive, $5-800 average, but since your truck is new and you're planning to keep it for the duration, they're very much well worth it. I've torn them out rebuilding rear quarters in trucks, and let me tell you, they're awesome! (Dripping sweat off my nose for hours ripping those things out!) A really experienced operator can spray them on so anti-skid it'll blow your mind. Almost like felt, all the way out to slick and shiny, depending on what you want. If you're going to handle alot of bricks, blocks, rocks, or other very heavy stuff that has a tendency to get dropped, then they're not ideal, because you can still dent the bed thru a spray-on. For that, a thinner, cheap spray on under a pop-in is the best package. But aside from that, the professional hot applicated spray-on are unbeatable.

As to cleaning, the more anti-skid, the tougher to clean, but they clean as easy or easier than a pop-in, so no worries.
 
I had the Rhino bed. I'd highly recommend it. It's easy to clean and extremely durable. I had that truck for 13YRs of sometimes very hard (construction) use, with no problem. One of the neatest differences I found between it and the plastic kind is that the Rhino isn't "slippery when wet".

The only bad thing I could say is that it will burn pretty well, as I found out recently when my truck burned to the ground. Of course if you don't start a fire in the bed, you won't have to worry about that!
 
the rhino is sprayed on the thickest I believe, though I am sure as you prolly can get it as thick as you want. And there not quite that expensive, mine was $365 at 3/8" thick.

I have Linex as well it is some tough stuff. It took a round from a .270 (don't ask) and it was easy to fix. Mine has a lifetime warranty as well. It is very easy to keep clean and hides a load of dents.

Line-X is some good stuff. I know a dealer that's sprayed some valve covers and oil pans on some rock buggies to test the stuff, and it holds up extremely well to the heat. It's also has very good fade resistance.

i know you said don't ask but please Radd,,pullleeeaaasssseeeee tell us the 270 story,,LOL, and did the warranty cover a .270 round or didnt you tell them,,or did the 270 not even ding it,,if a 270 didnt ding it i might paint my entire 1970 Chevy 4X4 with the stuff,,,maybe thats what the airlines coat the "little black box" in /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have an Extreme Linings spray on bed liner and they claim it is suppose to be thicker and tougher than Rhino. I cant say if thats true one way or another. I had no choice because the liner came with the truck when I bought it and the dealer was using Extreme Linings at the time. What I can say is that I would not hesitate to use this company again. I haul ATV's, fuel cans, garbage (from my home remodeling projects) and even dead things on a pretty regular basis and this stuff cant be damaged. Its also got a lifetime warranty like the others. Really cant say if its any better than the others but I give it a two thumbs up. I also cant tell you how well it will burn like leon can /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Well Bob since you must pry, I will let you and everyone else in on an embarrassing situation. A buddy and I was sighting in a new Browning BAR 270 we were just wrapping up when I decided I wanted to take a shot down range, I threw a range bag up on the rail of my truck and took aim at the target; I was dead on the target 200 yards away. I was just about to pull the trigger when I had this feeling deep in my gut that this was not a good idea,

But I pulled the trigger anyway. All I remember was a loud boom and daylight shining through the fender well of the passenger side of my truck bed.

I know you all know why this happened and I should have known it to, but I made a bad error in judgement that will never happen again. As to why it happened, if you don't know why, I will let guys like Bob, Criner, LazyD, and others have a chance to rub it in.

I never want to stand in the way of a buddy getting the chance to rib another buddy. I took it to linex , and after he finished laughing his a$$ off (30 minutes later) he said he would fix it for free if he could take before and after pictures to use as advertisiing. It is still used by his company today

i have rhino in my truck,like it alot,holding up great.liked it so well i had my intire jeep done /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
