I have Rhino in my S10. Where it's thick, it's pretty good, where it's thin (like around the top of the bed) it's pretty weak. I cut a groove right through it and down to the paint with a canoe.
When I was researching it, everyone said that Rhino is softer than Line-X. If that's true, I'd probably look for Line-X on my next truck.
I had the UV coat put on mine. Supposed to hold the color longer. (Mine's black). It's been about 4 years now of not very hard use and a lot of the UV coat is coming off, especially around the top of the bed. Where it's coming off, the liner is turning grayish.
When it was brand new, it was so tacky, I put a cooler in the corner so it was touching on 3 sides, and had a hard time getting it out!

I made a bad error in judgement that will never happen again. As to why it happened, if you don't know why,

Well, ya had a forgetful moment, I'm sure you're thankful nobody got hurt. Other than your pride a little roughed up. I think I can explain the "why it happened" part if I understand the situation correctly. As you're looking through the scope the target looks clear and with no obstructions, so you shot. The reality is that the actual bore of the rifle is sitting about 1 1/2" lower than the centerline of the scope. Maybe more depending upon how high the rings are on the rifle. The sight picture looks good, yet the barrel is considerably lower and the bullet can strike an object directly in front of you even though it doesn't show in the scope or look like a problem as you are sighting. Did I get it right? Don't ask how I figured this out... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

My dealership has had trucks get Rhino Liners, Line-X liners, and Speedliners (That one is in-house). When it came time for me to get one, I got the Rhino.

GC,

You are dead on, I still feel like an A$$ everytime it comes up. Before my father in law passed away he use to make fun of me, he was ruthless (being funny) and I loved him for it. See when I was a young man I went hog hunting and my older brother said he saw a pig over behind this big tree. All you could see was the body (white body w/ big Black spots)from the shoulders down to about mid back he told me to shoot it. I said I wanted to get closer, but he said the hogs were dangerous (I had not been hog hunting before) and to go ahead and shoot it Well I did and when it got up to run it was not a hog but the neighbor ranchers goat. That sucker ran 10 yards before he was dead as a door nail. I went and apologized to the rancher and offered to pay him or work it off but he said nah I will sell it to one of the students at the college. I still feel bad after all these years even today, but these are mistakes I have learned from.. Anyway my father in law always said well you have shot a goat, a RAM (19996 Dodge)all you need now is to shoot a sheep and you will have completed the family. LOL

God I miss my father in law.

Rus

That was good, Man I left the door open, you just took the opportunity to walk through. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Rus,
That story of the goat speaks as to your character. Not many kids now or then would have owned up to shooting someones animal like that. Thats prolly why the guy let ya off the hook. Honesty like that is hard to come by.

If I ever get up there to your area, we are going huntin in your truck though!!!!!

I had a friend in Homer AK that shot the roof of his Caddy 3 times trying to sight in before a moose hunt. He was upset that his rifle could be so far off until someone noticed the gouge in his car roof. Then he was really upset.

I doubt he ever lived that one down.

My father had is entire truck done, by the rhino dealer here. Its a bright red and its not fading at all and its been on 3-4 yrs. He got it sprayed on thick. The stuff does cut easy tho we were sliding a headache rack in and a sharp edge caught the bed rail and cut it back a inch and a half. Other than that its held up great.
