BFG ATs have been good for me in sand, rock, and snow, but I don't like them in the mud. I put some Cooper Discoverer ATPs (285/70R17) on my Ram 2500 a year and a half ago and have been pretty pleased. I've had them in snow, mud, sand, rocks, icy roads, and boring old dry pavement and they've held their own, at least as far as AT tires go. And with a 50k mile warranty, I think they were well worth the 900 bucks spent.
