TruGlo sight for my shotgun

I don't see a shotgun forum here, which is kind of surprising, so I hope this is acceptable to be posted here.

I've been using my old 12 gauge Browning Belgium made 3 shot gun for coyotes for several years now. The main problem is two things. It only holds three shots, and secondly it only takes 2 3/4" shells.

So yesterday I bought a new shotgun which is a Stoeger M3000, 12 gauge with a 3" chamber and it will hold 5 rounds. I want to put a better sight on it and was looking at TruGlo's PRO•SERIES MAGNUM GOBBLE•DOT. I really like the fact that it is adjustable for elevation and windage, and the fiber-optic really shows up better than a metal or even painted bead. I have read some reviews on this setup on Amazon and a couple of other places with both pro's and cons. Some say they love it and others say that the fiber-optics are too small to see. One guy said that the mount broke when he tried to tighten it up on his gun, and another fella said that his fell off from the recoil after just a few shots, etc., etc.

I'm just wondering if anyone on here might know anything about this particular sight and maybe even own one. They aren't that expensive, around $50.00, but $50.00 is $50.00 and I don't want to spend money on something that is junk. I think TruGlo has a pretty good reputation in the archery world but not sure about firearms. Well, thanks for any input, I really appreciate the help.

Jim,
We don't have a shotgun specific forum, however we do have a "Firearms" forum. Your question will be seen by more folks there and probably get a better response. I don't have adjustable sights on my shotguns, I just shoot the bead. My guns fit and point of aim and point of impact are the same. Currently I use a pair of old Benelli M1S90 3" 12 bore semi auto guns for my predator hunting. Before that it was a late 50's 12 gauge Remington Wingmaster and a Belgian Browning Light Twelve A5. Both of those have 28" fixed modified chokes. I used either a short mag 2 3/4" load of BB or No. Four Buck and inside 40 yards they were deadly. While I use the Benelli autos now, I still love my old Wingmaster and about any Belgian Auto Five. While in the Firearms section look at the Sticky Thread at the top about Shotgun Patterning as it could prove helpful in the future for you.

Cheers,
GC

Thanks for that information GC, I appreciate it. Is there a chance that you could move my post to the firearms section for me. I don't know how to do that and on top of that I'm guessing I'm probably not allowed to do that. Thanks again for the help.

Well heck I just noticed that this post is already in the "Firearms" section. Sorry about that GC.

Jim my 12g 835 turkey barrel came with FO sights. They're fine to a point.Elevation is adjustable via a screw but for windage there's just a pin with 3 holes to choose from so it's decidedly limited.I dont know anything about Truglows FO's.IMO you are better off going with a reflex RD or tube RD.I went with Weaver' Microdot.A friend has a Truglow Trubrite reflex and likes it alot.
