TT - Nice little Coco call.

I had to test out my new mandrels from Builderone. I decided to spin up this Cocobolo open reed on it. The mandrel work like a freakin' champ on this call.

I designed and built this call specifically for myself. I'm heading out in the morning for a 3 week calling trip. I figured a custom call builder should have at least one good looking call on his lanyard. Most of my lanyard looks like the mechanic's car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I like how the grain is on the toneboard.

Tony, I think I have the same little lathe as you do.
It has the #1 MT on it. I was gonna contact Chad about a mandrel or two, only thing I've used is a pen mandrel up to this point. Can you show me pics of what you got for mandrels from him? What you'd recommend. Thanks, Scott

I had him make 3 mandrels all with MT 1 taper on them. One is a 1/2 tailstock type mandrel, the other is a 5/8" tailstock type, and the third is a 1/2 no-tailstock one. All fit my taper perfect, spin true and are 100 times better than the pen mandrel I've been using.

I'm under the gun getting things packed tonight, so no time for a pic, sorry.

You can't go wrong with his mandrels. I'd stand behind them.
