Took a family member out hunting last night & never has he successfully shot and killed any coyotes that I've called in for us the previous times I've taken him and several coyotes had been shot at leading to this night granted he always uses one of my setups since he dont have any kind of night vision or thermal optics (yet that is) so he dont have alot of practice behind them, but last night I only loaded one rifle & tripod in truck and headed over to pick him up, told him its all on you tonight im just gonna run the call and watch with the thermal monocular.. 1st setup we didn't here or see anything after 30 min I decided let's make a move about 5-600 yards too the south and try making another setup, let off a series of cal taylors "where u at" howls and within a min of being silent we hear a pair fire up about 150 yards or so...occasional whimpers and growls with pup fights we see them pop out of woods down wind, told him shoot before they get wind and take off, 1st coyote(male) dropped after the shot and the 2nd one ran off, after some young kiyi and I think mfk fight challenge i got the 2nd one to circle back for another opportunity and he shot and killed #2(female) for the night... off to next set, start off calling with low prey distress just to see if anything was close by, didn't see much so then a series mfk fireballexcitedhowls with min or so of silence and followed with mfk fireballbiggirlpair and while we was waiting to hear a response I scanned behind us and a male coyote was working his way to us from about 350 yards, I told him to get ready and wait for a good shot opportunity... #3 for the night drt at 200 yards.. video starts after the 1st coyote was already laying dead and got the 2nd called back
