Tumbler for beginners

Don't plan on getting into reloading big volumes to start out. Ordered me a Lock n Load starter single stage kit... What is a good inexpensive tumbler to start with? Harbor Freight has a cheapo for around $50... anyone tried these?

Will probably start out with dry media, then work my way up to the wet tumbling.

Stu, Thanks for the link. Just bought one. Watch the checkout or they will add $10 shipping. Go for the free shipping.
I use lizard litter (ground walnut), corn cob, or a thick bodied rice as media. I use cob to remove the sizing lube after size/decap. I use the walnut to polish but it gets real dusty. I have an ancient Thumbler's Tumbler that works fine with 1 qt paint cans but sometimes I need more capacity.

to reduce the dust in walnut, toss in a dryer sheet (can be used, but i buy the cheap-o new ones in bulk) with every batch you run.

the first batch or two you do this with you may need to stop half way and replace the dryer sheet.

its worth it though, those little things are fine particle magnets!

treated corn cob will last a long time, and as previously stated, when the corn cob media starts to look "dirty" cut up "used" dryer sheets and the dryer sheets will clean the carbon from the media - greatly extending the life of the corn cob particles.

If you use new dryer sheets, there's the possibility of messing up your media. I did that one time and for some reason my 45 Colt cases had a sticky film on them after a couple hours of tumbling. I had to dump the media and start over - the cases polished right up after that, so I recommend using only used dryer sheets, plus if you're married, the war department will collect them and put them in a baggie for future use.
