The brass question is very well covered. I'd only add another bullet/powder combo or two.

I'm shooting a 20"BHW (9 twist) and have had good luck with

85gr sgk over between 25.7 and 26 gr of 8208. It runs in the high 2700s to right at 2800 and shoots in the .5s or better unless I futz it up.

I've also used 87gr v-maxes. They work decently, but it's really too long a bullet to work in my AR.

I've found that to get anywhere near the lands I have to load out to over 2.36 for the vmax and 2.33 for the sgk. The vmax doesn't seem to like making the jump from a mag length seat. Loaded long and single fed it works really well. Shorten it, and it opens up pretty quick.

The gk seems to prefer to be somewhere in the 2.29s, but shoots very well in the high 2.6 to 2.7 range and I can squeeze those into most of my mags.
