Twisted Syco & Verminator 5

You had a couple other calls in the works...the Viper (I think) and maybe something else. Do you have any plans for those?

Rick I have had great luck with your Calls and I really like your DVD's too so I guess I better get your new call.
I like to see you at The World Predator Expo next year.

I just ordered your new DVD and few more calls I like your new web site to order on but I like your old site for the tips and pictures maybe you can add them to new site.

I just watched the DVD last night. You guys did an excellant job on it. I also like the sound of the new call I got from you. In the video, one of your friends said he had an AR in a 223 AI. How does it function. I have always heard that the AI cartridge would not feed in the AR platform.

Thanks, as far as the AR223AI he was having a little trouble with it.
But I will let him get on and tell a little about it. Dennis is a member here.

Thanks
Rick

What on Earth are these things supposed to sound like???

I bought verminators 4, and the first 3 hunts have me stumped on what the call is supposed to sound like... maybe a dying cat..?

calling4life

I had to go put verm 4 in so i could see what i was doing,
The first 2 hunts i was blowing long range tweety, just rabbit distress, 3rd hunt started with rabbit dist. on tweety, then went to syco tweety before the coon came out, when the coon was about half way in and he turned a little i hit syco tweety and those sounds i am making to me sound like a couple of birds fighting .

hope that helps

Rick

Here is a true story...and an unbiased review of the new Twisted Syco call.

I rec'd the call & DVD on Saturday, & like a kid @ Christmas, I couldn't wait to tear into both. Truth be told, I had to re-watch the DVD because I was making so much noise with the call, I couldn't hear the DVD!
I could not put the call down all evening!
The call not only has a longer toneboard, the call bosy is longer & re-shaped for a better grip, IMO.
If you've ever been a fan of the original Syco, or just love to make crazy blood-curdling sounds that your neighbor can't make on his call...the DO NOT pass up this new call!!
The original is a wicked sounding call. But this new Twisted Syco can make an even broader assortment of sick, dismembering, rip that bunny apart sounds. You can get all the same sounds as the original, but with the longer toneboard, you have a access to a deeper tone too.
I've read where people have complained they "can't get the original Syco to produce what they thought it should"...all while they were trying to use the regular old "waa-waa" rythmns.
I'm not sure if Rick would agree with me, but IMO, you want to forget about the "waa-waa". Especially with this new call. What I do is theink to myself, "Oh man, I'm being pulled apart one bite at a time!!! HHEEELLLLPPP MMMEEEE, AAAIIIII!!!!"

Now the true story...
How well does it call predators??? Depends on whether you consider neighbors & the local police "predators"!!!
They must be, because my neighbor call the police Saturday, reporting that either a woman or child was being beaten in my house.
Fortunately, I got the door open before they could knock it down. And for the record, there was no one else in the house, other than myself. Neither cop believed my story of just practicing my calling...until I picked up the call & demonstrated.LOL

Personally, I really didn't think Rick could improve on the Syco. But I'm glad to admit that I was wrong. If you buy only one call this year, buy the Twisted Syco...and learn how to use it. You won't regret it!!

That`s a good story.I can just picture you going to the door with a wife beater t-shirt, unshaven and plaid shorts on just to have the cops ask to come in.

Yeah, I got mine yesterday, too. The thing is mean. I like the bigger call body also and the cool swirl "paint".

I agree syco takes a little practice to make it sound right, but when you do, it's blood-curdling.

I can't believe the police showed up.

That's funny. No shirt and needs to shave...sounds like me.

Sorry I haven't replied, my computer's been down for almost a week.

I got your package in the mail and I've watched the video at least 3 times, maybe more. I love the set when you asked the "Ding Dongs" how many times they shot. I was sitting so far to the right I couldn't see what was going on and I thought there must have been a herd a coyotes with all the shooting going on. I was looking for targets that weren't there.

My other favorite was the "Physco" coyote. That coyote didn't know what to make of all that noise. He finally stopped in a bad spot and went for a ride in the truck.

Great video. Lots of good memories and I'm looking forward to do it again.

The Twisted Syco is great. I like the longer call body and it sounds cool. I like to flick my tounge on the tip to get a great bird sound. My son Colton told me his ears were bleeding after the trip up the driveway. Should be able to Verminate a few critters with it this fall.

The AR in 223 Ackley was built by a friend and neighbor who just happens to be a top notch gunsmith. It's my first AR and we went slow so I could decide what I wanted and didn't want. The problems we had were easily fixed and the gun works very well.

The chamber was cut tight and the 1st set of dies wouldn't size the brass enough to chamber every time. I got a set of Redding dies and that ended the problem. The feed ramps needed a little work and the gas block was opened up a little at a time to get it to cycle just right. The problem that gave us the most trouble was fixed when I bought a better magazine. The one I was using at the start was replaced and I've never had a feeding problem since.

If you are thinking about doing an AI, I'd vote yes.
