Two pics from the trail camera (I know what it is) new pic

Whatever!!!I guess the next thing you are going to tell us is that a grey gets bigger than a coon...Ha Ha.But anyway all Im saying is that is a coon in that picture .It sounds like from his first couple of post that alot of people told him it was a coon, and then I guess somehow it turned in to a grey...I guess it sounds cooler or something to show that picture and say its a grey I dont know?Anyway Ive got better things to do than to argue about a picture...Goodluck with that....

Im sorry but a gray fox stands taller than a coon. I couldnt help but point that out. Just in case someone someone didnt know their animals /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Foxy,
Sorry man but I've seen several coons that were about the same height as a grey fox. You take a 15lb. coon & put him next to 9lb. grey fox & they will be close to the same height. Most grey fox are pretty low profile.
Here's a reference pic. The coon in this pic was a small one...... 10 - 11 lbs.

The first pic looks like a grey fox to me.

I never intended to cause a disturbance. When i first seen the pic i thought grey fox but a couple people i have shown said coon. The thing is i have never seen a grey around here just reds. My brother told me that he had killed a grey about 15 years ago. Just wondering what you guys thought not to cause a debate. Sorry

Ive enjoyed it skeet987,nothing like a little friendly argueing before going to work ha..Nice picture,Im going to have to get me one of those trail cams been wanting one for a while. To me that would be just as fun as trapping you never know what you're going to have!!!Have a good one, holler at ya later,Chad

At the time the snow was about 3 inches deep and melting pretty good but i did see tracks but could'nt see the actual "paw" print just little round indents in the snow. There wasnt any sign of it dragging its feet or anything.

So what the heck is it?

I say it's a grey starting to roll around on that Predator Pile stuff.

Nevermind, didn't notice there was a 2nd page.

looks like a coon to me because of the tail and the arched back. Does kinda look like a grey but I havnt seen many greys in my life so I can't be positive on what it is.

that leg does look a little long for a coon though, so I dunno. But that tail and arched back screams coon.

well thats pretty obvious now. got to love trail cams!

Yeah i really like the trail cam. I had no idea that there was a grey fox back there. Thats not to far from my tree stand and the past 3 years while in my stand during deer season i've seen one red fox. Then with the pic of the yote it kinda suprises me that the 2 foxes and the yote have over lapping territory. The trail cam has taken some cool pics like a redtail hawk flying right at the cam. Besides the yote, fox and several redtails the cam has takens pics of a crap load of crows, deer, turkey, turkey vultures, opossum and a owl. I think i've had it up something like 10 days. It's hard for me to keep from going up there to get the pics from it every day.

meh, foxes and coyotes share terrioties I guess. We shot one coyote last weekend with the hounds, seen another the day after then just yesturday I seen a pair of reds out in the same field out hunting. I told my buddy about it and he said he seen a couple reds there the week before, and now that I think of it we seen a roadkill redfox on that same road about 1\4 mile away.

so they do overlap territories, but the foxes are the intruter and if caught the coyote wouldnt be to nice about it LOL

A grey fox is no taller than a coon! Now a red is but not a gray...The angle of the picture has got alot of you fooled. If you set back from your computer screen about 3 feet you can see about 4 rings on that tail. That black stripe going down the back of its tail is the shadow of the tail on the snow, you can even see his mask he's got his nose in the snow. This is how Bigfoot got started...If someone would blow this picture up I think alot of you that think you know your animals would be wrong.

Are you kidding me. Are they really.
