Two Stands Two Critters

I made only two stands this morning. Both were successful. First stand brought in a young female coyote. I dropped her at about 25 yards.

The second stand brought in a tom bobcat. He came in from behind me. I would have never seen him but a pair of ravens tipped me off to his presence and caused me to look in his direction. Dropped him at about 35 yards.

I’ve heard so many stories about guys being tipped off by birds to either coyotes or bobcats. It has never happened to me. The only time a bird has ever tipped me was when I coyote was coming in and spooked a group of quail

Moral of the story is I never get excited over magpies or crows.

Good on you for listening to the warnings! I’m still waiting to see something arrive when I hear the birds and squirrels. Every time I get excited. Never has it turned into a successful hunt!

Congrats on your kills! Keep on tipping them over!
