Is there anyone in the Tyler Texas Area here? If so I am looking into getting serious into predator hunting, and need a teacher and a hunting buddy. I have killed several coyotes one with a bow, but most of which were just shots of opportunity while at my lease. Please send me an e-mail at deadliftfreak@hotmail.com as I check it recularly. I am an avid hunter and have quite the rifle for the job, just need some knowledge, and someont to teach me. Thanks!
 
First I will need a pic of the rifle that is so well suited for the job

Then we will need to discuss the recular rate for tutoring sessions
 
Ok, I'll take a pic of the firearm when I get home but for now a description will have to do. It is a Howa 1500 Thumbhole Varminter .22-250, with SEALs 6-24x50 illuminated reticle mildot glass, Timney trigger, and Leupold base/mounts. It has been glass bedded, and currently me and my father are working up a load for it. The rate of twist is a littl slow for my liking (1 in 14), however I hope to rebarrel eventually with a 1 in 9 .22-250AI. It should, by the end of the week, have polished bolt guides and a jeweled bolt. It's a little heavy, but I also do some paper punching with it and hope to go to Montana with a friend of mine to shoot some prarie dogs with it soon. As far a pay goes, you can drink some of my beer/whiskey AFTER the hunts lol, and maybe, just maybe, I'll have my wife cook you a meal if I think it is worth it (j/k)!
 
You can try varmetwacker, he is down around Lake Tyler just southeast of town. He seems to be a great fellow and has always been willing to visit when I have talked to him in the past.

Where specifically do you hunt? If you can't get ahold of William drop me a pm and we will try to get together for a hunt.
 
Me, my brother in law, and father in law have a lease in Mixon, My grandparents land in Gary, and my me and my brothers sometimes hunt some ppl they know's land in Rains. My father is the Methodist minister in Gilmer, so he always has someone that wants to let the preacher and his kids hunt on their property. Not just a whole lot of coyotes in Mixon, but we have a large population of Bobcat, as does Gary. Game cams in Rains have a couple of pics of a lion on them and my brother has seen it twice, but we have never been able to get a shot off. And I am willing to travel a little while to spend some time in the woods as well. BTW am I incorrect in assuming that my firearm is inadequet for the task of predator hunting?
 
It certainly isn't inadequate, just different strokes for different folks. I prefer a more compact rifle with a low power scope or a shotgun for calling in the east Texas woods. Your rig will kill em just fine!
 
albey [beeep], my family has some property on the sabine river just past wynona headed north on 155. but i live in houston, so it puts a crimp on when i get up there. i try. i usually carry a benelli cordoba, or my .308 VLS. next time i head that way ill see if i can help you out some.
 
Well, I always have the old Mossberg 500A I could break out, but as far as compact with a low power scope, my trusty levergun with the 3x9-32 is about as compact and low power as I have. Its my Boardozer. Most of my firearms are along the lines of the .22-250 (.25-06 exct). That is except for my Savage .17 HMR, which I dont care what anyone says, it IS inadequet for coyotes, and besides it has a highpower BSA Sweet .17 on it. And seaaggie, I appriceat it, just drop me an e-mail if you dont mind.

TT, Let me know when you want to go to Gary, This is just a hop, skip and jump for me from here. I would be willing to take you.
 
Grrr... I tried the photobucket thing and it didnt work. made sure to type
after just like it said and all it did was post the link.

I can go to gary just about anytime that I am off of work (Sundays and either Wednesday, or Thursdays). All of you folks that are interested hunting with me, and teaching me, pls send me a PM or drop me an e-mail so i can get you my number and we can plan this out. Thx

down at the bottom of the pic there is a button that says Image Code, where it puts the whole code into it and you just paste like this. there are a total of four options. just for example my hunting/fishing/daily driver.

next time i make it up there to do some hunting ill give you a holler, but the yotes on my place are very leary of everything, even though they are rarely hunted.
