Uniform primer pockets ?????

I uniform all my primer pockets and use the same tool to clean them after each loading. Does it make a big difference? Probably not, but I do it anyhow. Its just part of what I do for normal case prep.

Like sodak say's. But I run all my brass through the uniformer on my case prep center the first time then on the 3rd time reloading I do it again to clean the pocket. Have not noticed any difference in accuracy from one time to the next or any of the loads that I had before the case prep center. Never used one for years but was picking up alot of military crimp brass at the range and started using a case prep center. Now every 3rd time they get run through it.

I uniform and debur the flash hole initially. Once is all that is needed. Then thereafter I clean the primer pockets.

I've been using the uniformer chucked into a cordless drill on new brass. Has anybody noticed the primer pockets loosening up any sooner than usual?

i've used the 'zilla' method for all of my CF ammunition.

I don't notice any difference performance before or after. I've heard it said that it does help if you remove that little bit of extra brass around the flash hole on the inside. I think it just makes me feel good that all the brass is uniform - like others have said here.

I uniform all my varmint loads with a sinclair tool, then use the same one to clean them each time. always makes me feel better to do it, and for sure can't hurt. But I also think it takes a very accurate rifle to tell the difference.

Yes! My large rifle primer pocket uniformer will never be used again.

I now use a Sinclair primer pocket uniformer on every piece of brass I use after finding some new Winchester 223 brass with shallow primer pockets ( primer would not seat below the base of case ).

If you find a primer pocket that is loose after using a Sinclair tool I would think it would be loose whether you used the tool or not.(already loose) Now if EVERY primer pocket came out loose then you have an over sized tool, or you are not using it properly some how.

The tool I have does not cut on the bore diameter, but only on the bottom of the primer pocket. Its possible you have one out of spec. This type of cutter would be a little squirrely if it was cutting on the sides before it got to the bottom of the primer pocket and it is not designed to remove the military crimps. I think both sizes I have are RCBS brand. I have never had a problem with loose primer pockets due to the reamer tools I have.

I believe it allows the gases/flame from the primer, to flow the same to the propellent in every cartridge. If you don't have that, then every round will vary. Kind of like using a different brand of primer for each cartridge. Well, mabey not that extream. Also, the primer pocket carbon will deflect the flame of the primer and cause the same problem.

I uniform all my cases before loading no mater how many times they have been loaded, (call me anal) I just feel better knowing that all my cases are the same everytime. This way I know when I miss a shoot that I have nothing to blame it on but myself.

Ditto the above; use the Sinclair tool in a power drill to uniform all primer pockets....first thing I do when I buy new brass.....then use the same tool to clean them after they're fired. Not the most pleasant task, but one that hopefully eliminates inconsistent results....also give me a chance to closely examine the cartridge and throw out the crap...there always seems to be some.

It is the one of the things you only have to do once.

I have to ask all of you guys that go to all of this trouble with cases. Are you capable of shooting MOA or less with your Rifle. If not I believe for a hunting rig you are wasting your time. Especially with a Factory Rifle.

Yup. All of it gets done. Just a mandatory step for me. Just like popping out the spent primer.
