Unlocking Remington J-Locks without the key?

Okay. Hang on a minute. You are confusing me now. Are you telling me that the white dot is showing and the bolt is fully engaged/closed?

Negative i locked it with the bolt open and it wont close.

Okay, good. Anyway,I just locked it and tried again. Took a little longer, but it opened........

Don't know what else to tell you. I'd have ripped the [beeep] thing out with a pair of needle nosed pliers by now if I had to mess with it as long as you have.........

Stick the paperclip right in the middle of the "J". Make sure you don't snap it off.......

I realize this is an OLD POST, but this is what I wld call a "REDNECK FIX" to a REAL PROBLEM!!! I took this advice after everything I did was a epic fail! I found the paperclip right in the middle and a very small flat head screwdriver to compress some type of pin/lever just down inside the "J" on the straight part of the J to be able to turn the abortion they call a firing pin SAFETY! THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!!
