Update: The story was in today's local paper, check it out: NEWS
This came from an email that's floating around here lately.
I don't know the "real" story behind these photos, but they do look pretty convincing. We've always had an on-going joke with out-of-state hunters that have never seen an elk before.
Make sure to look at the last photo--of his correctly filled out elk tag! I hope this guy isn't a PM member.

Non-resident hunting Big Sky Country..........
All gutted, tagged and in transport!
*30-06 rifle with Leupold Scope - $650 dollar
*Out of State Elk License - $600 dollar
*Gas to drive from New York - $700 dollars
*Taking a Trophy Montana Llama- Priceless /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Nice elk. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I wonder, did he really drive all the way from New York to hunt elk in Montana with nothing more than a small cooler? I'd like to know the rest of the story.

Years ago, some OUT of stater shot a Llama thinking it was a elk and took it have it processed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I'd of laughed the guy back home.

Nothin' tastes better than llama chops! You can make good soup outta them goofy looking feet. The cooler probably has the giblets, mmmmm.

Years ago a gamewarden friend told me a story about confiscating a "mule" deer from a non-res hunter. He said the hunter put up a /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif of an argument about why he should keep his animal, until he was pointed out the fact that mule deer don't wear steel horse shoes!
Hard to believe it's true, but still funny!

My dad was in a bar in Hungry Horse listening to a guy talk about his cow elk hunt and the huge cow elk that he got. When dad left he noticed the guys pickup with a shod mule in the back. And people wonder why dad insists on hanging blaze orange streamers off of our bridles and saddles.

I Googled Rusty Saunders and Fort Edward, NY. Came up with a phone number and called the guy this morning.
The guy I talked to was totally clueless.
Maybe there's more than one Rusty Saunders in Ft. Edward.

If I was Rusty, I wouldn't admit to it either!
