Gun show in town this weekend. I've got a SKS I was thinking about trying to sell at the show.

It's a Norinco Paratrooper model. I'd say better than average condition. I think I've also got two or three 30 rounds mags for it. Any ideas what I should be looking to get out of it?

Also the ammo. I have a whole bunch of 7.62X39. Several different kinds. From Wolf to the better stuff. A bunch of it is on stripper clips. Any idea what the going rate on the ammunition it is now?

Thanks for any info provided.

Maybe I can get some pics up later today.

I have had one on armslist for 450 for a week and only had a few trade offers. Mine also has a few mags and the original box mag. No ammo though. I have had a few inquiries and a few trade offers but nothing serious. So I wold guess going price on these isn't much more than what they were a few months ago. I would say a fair and honest price is more like $300 but like everyone else I was hoping for a sucker! LOL

Suckers are out there. I saw two sell at a local gun shop for $500 a piece. One of them was decent, the other had been Kryloned and looked like crap. Think they each had one mag with them.

I've been thinking of putting my AK, 4 mags, and 1800 rds of ammo up also. Kind of waiting to see what is going to happen. If we had a gun show in the near future, that's where I would take it.

If you're serious about selling, pull the trigger NOW!. People are paying absolutely stuid amounts of money for anything with a mag hanging out the bottom. There will never be a better time to sell and never will be a more difficult time to know what to price at.

You're a little vague on condition. There is no NRA grade "better than average". In NRA Grade Good, My guess is that you're looking at 500-650 as an estimate. Then add accessories from there.

Of course, this is tricky, because sanity has been thrown out the window and there are panic-crazed retreads out there now willing to pay anything, so pricing is VERY difficult now. It could just as easily sell for $800 or more, you only need one eejet who thinks that guns are going to be banned tomorrow to walk by.

In the current environment, I'd be tempted to price high at the gun show and see if you get lucky. If you don't, put it on an auction site with a reserve and see how many suckers there are out there willing to bid er up. Never know, you set a reserve of $700 and two chumps might get into a bidding war that leaves one of them holding the sucker bag. It's happened. Right now on Gunbroker there are auctions with bids of over $600, so there are still plenty of fools and their money out there.

Findin an SKS, hicap mags and ammo in the back of the safe is like winning the lottery today. Go to a gun show, get there early(betting there's a line when you get there), ask a lot and I bet the whole kitten caboodle is gone by the time you hit the front door.

The early guys in line are usually 2 types: One is the reloader looking to get what minimal supplies might be had, the other is the guy you're looking for. He's there to get his hands on an EBR and cases of whatever milsurp ammo at any cost. You don't have to look for him, he'll find you. But if you're interested he'll be in fatigue pants with jump boots and a beer or nascar t-shirt.

AR's are sellin like hot cakes for 50-100% higher than 2 months ago. The same mark up can be expected from the other evil guns. 2 months ago $300 would of been good, now $450-$600 is not out of the question. And that's just for the gun. Mags and ammo just icing.

Here's what I have. Sooooo, now what do ya think the entire package might be worth?

The rifle. It's a Chinese Norinco. And it's what they called the *Paratrooper* model. It's a shorter barreled model. From research I've done, the Paratrooper is more rare than some of the other Norinco models.

Good Tasco Pro Point red dot with custom mount. This is a SOLID mount that won't move!

Total of 1540 rounds of ammo. 580 rounds is on 10 round stripper clips.

Have 10, 20 and 30 round mags.

Extra stock (it's actually the original).

Dozen stripper clips.

Couple of cool canvas ammo pouches.

Ammo can.

Butt stock cleaning kit and other little misc items.

Wow. Much more than mine. I wouldn't let the gun go less than 700 or so personally. Maybe 50 cents a round for ammo? I would bet you showed up with all that at a show it would sell for way more than that.

I saw one today at a local gun shop. he just was putting it out as I got there, a consignment one...$849 that was the gun only price...I laughed!
This is the same shop that has 3 Ar15s in the rack for $2500 ea, still there from 2 weeks back, consignment rigs.

Ill give you $300 for the ammo & mags & you toss in the gun since its ugly.

You better take a 2 wheel dolly with you or some strong backed buddies. Yes, that is way nicer than the ones I saw sell. If you make it in the door with it, a good place to stand is between the entrance and exit doors.
