upgrading my savage 308

I understood the original post. Both 24 and 26 are plenty long for a field gun with a suppressor . Since it's a bench gun and have to dial for 500 anyways ,I'd probably lean towards 24" with the given contour.
if it matters... the can only weighs 12oz... so its not like i'm hanging an anvil off the front.

had a baffle strike last summer.. my blast baffle finally collapsed after 10 years and untold thousands of rounds. when i sent it for repair i had an option to upgrade the core to titanium monocore, which i jumped on. shaved 10oz off :)

why not a 308?
a precision 308 bolt gun build was the whole reason i picked this rifle up in the first place.

If you want a 308 precision bolt gun, I can understand..... BTDT:

If you want a precision bolt gun to shoot to 500, & possible to 1000, there's better caliber options out there was my point.

i already own a 6.5cm RPR. a 6arc, a 6.5g, and two different ar-308's (both of which are ½moa or better uppers).

this was purely an exercise in "i want to build a really nice 308" :)

that's a beauty you have there.
