I have put together some lowers but not uppers.I want to start building a upper and would like to know what books or magazine would be a great help to do so. Thanks Joey
 
Go over to AR15.com and you will find several tutorials...There is even one thread called "AR15 for Dummies" that has a ton of photos in it....

I have to go down to my 'gun room' later and I'll pull out my favorite book on ARs and post a follow up...
 
Sorry to be so late with the book info...Got tied up with the neighbors and the VP Debate...

The book is titled "The AR-15 Complete Owner's Guide" by Walt Kuleck, with Scott Duff...Vol I, Second Edition...

Chapter Seven deals with assembling your own upper and has some insights that the author observed while building his, in conjunction with the Army and Marine Technical manuals.. (If you really get into the AR platform, they are also worth reading)

The book covers almost every aspect of the AR-15, as well as history and variants...
 
I recently put together my first upper and used the above mentioned material at AR15.com as well. I also used the video clips on Brownells web site. Very straightforward and easy to understand.
