So I'm on my second set this morning. The wind was brisk out of the SW. So I go set my Foxpro upwind/crosswind from me. As I was walking back to the small hill I was going to sit at, I start misting the air and sagebrush. I get to my location sit down, position my gun, etc., and start my caller. No sooner I do this, as I am in fact pushing the up volume button, I look downwind, and there is a coyote at about 60 yards just standing there. I about crapped. He wasn't even looking at me, he was looking straight upwind. He had to have been there, or just passing through, but I also think the urine smell had him completely occupied.
I repositioned my shooting sticks and let him have it. Down he went.
I have misted in the past, but now I won't leave home without it. I was sure to bring it today, when I had two coyotes bust me last weekend on a similar set about a mile away. These came in crosswind and circled downwind, just as I was getting positioned they fled. BUSTED.
Give it a try.
