I was curious if any of you happened to know the going price on one of these babies. I think the one I have is pre 68 or 64 can't remember. My dad bought it new when he was 16 and that was 40 years ago. Has the maple leaves and acorn on the stock and forearm.
Thanks for any input.

The pre-64 is what your thinking of. If he bought it 40 years ago that would make it a 66, correct? The value im going to give is straight out of the blue book for gun values. If the gun is pre-64 and in 90% condition the book says $650. If it was made after 64 it has a value of $400. If you post the guns serial number i can tell you what year it was made.

My father has the same gun, its a great gun. You may want to consider holding on to it, the value on the model 88 is going up (at least where im at).

If it has the maple leaf on the stock then its definitely a post-64, that's the easiest way to tell the difference between the two. Average condution should be worth about $400, but they can go up a but if its in really nice shape.

ditto on the post 64, I would say $650 is prolly about right if its in good shape, That would be retail price of course. The carbine model which has a band around the barrel and stock are usually worth more.

I have on in 308 it turned into a great shooter after I had the trigger adjusted to about 4#'s it usually shoots most stuff around MOA.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll never get rid of it and just pass it on to my son when hes of age. This gun is a great shooter, it's topped with a lupy 3x9x44 and has taken everything from jacks to elk. Its my deer and coyote gun, makes it fun with a lever action on them yotes. I am in the market for a black rifle, just can't decide if I am gonna build or buy a complete one. Thanks again.
