Used takeoff barrel price?

What is a reasonable price to ask for a Shilen Select Match Stainless takeoff barrel in .260 Rem? Has around 300 rds down the tube and is a heavy palma taper. Was coated with something, but would clean up with bead blasting. Midways order price for the same barrel looks to be $390 but that seemed high. What is the going rate for something like this?

Came off of a Stiller TAC30 action

Thats funny. I would never sell a barrel that shot real well. I doubt anybody else would either.

It has never crossed my mind to buy a used barrel, at any price.

I have no problem with a used barrel if I trust the seller. There are lots of reasons for pulling a barrel, caliber change or maybe going to a lighter or heavier contour or just tired of the caliber. Lots of reasons. As far as price, maybe $250-$300, give or take. If you price it and it sells really quick...you were to cheap. LOL!

You dont ever switch calibers, profile, length or anything else? I bought the gun as a precision rifle that weighed in excess of 15 lbs with a heavy palma .260 barrel. I sold some of the parts and the scope with the sole intention of rebarreling it to 6mm Creedmoor in a #3 profile for a coyote rifle. The barrel does me no good. I suppose to each their own but I have sold or traded many rifles that shot very well for one reason or another. Thanks for the input.

Thank you for the input, I never had issues buying or selling barrels, I will start at $200 and go from there.

yeah.....

I did not mean to sound offensive or anything like that. I think i just learned i am a barrel hoarder.....

I can't seem to let go of anything. I just keep it around for decades

LoL

Oh Well....

I bought a used action, Herter's version, of a Mauser 98, That turned out to be outstanding, it had a 26" barrel on it. It had rust all over the outside that was just surface rust and cleaned up nice and reblued. The owner must have not noticed the scope holes were not in line with the bore and you could not hit a 10" target at 100 yards. so I know it had very few rounds shot through it. I had to put some windage mounts on it but now I shoot amazing, it is a 6mm rem. So just because it's used does not been it's bad.

I have bought a lot of barrels, primarily Savage/Stevens. I find that lots of people pre-assume because they are factory they are sub standard and buy new rifle and unscrew the factory barrel and buy a custom instead. I lap up the gravy and have gotten no duds!

Just work the loads on paper and sit back and smile!
