Utah Coyote and Redfox?!

Speaking of denning this is probably not the time you want to be in the field harrassing the coyotes anyway.Let them have there pups and get them raised old enough to leave mom and dad.Probably Sept...If you kill mom and dad now the pups probably won't make it til fall and thus less coyotes to shoot then.FWIW Good Hunting Chad

Good point. I share the same opinion. I hear a lot of people say how hard it is to call them. Hunting them this time of year means less to hunt come fall.

I graduated from the U a few years back. I used to hunt over on the other side of Tooele off highway 6. There's a bunch of old mining towns and ghost towns back there. Now it's mostly sheep grazing land. Lots of deer, the DFG or somebody traps coyotes out there pretty hard. You'll see signs posted on fenceposts: caution harmful trapping devices in area etc.

The coyotes are out there for sure, I called in a few when we had 3 weeks off from school for the '02 Olympics and I decided to learn this sport. But they're tuff to call. You can get jacks out that way too. I had better luck with coyotes in NV off Hwy 50.

If you're in SLC, I'd say you're gonna need to drive far enough that most other people won't be there. If you saw 14 other hunters in one night, that tells you something... The place is hunted VERY hard!
