Once I get away from these areas, my results go up drastically! Took a season to really figure this one out..
If you are finding sign and you know they are there, but they are not coming to the call, that just tells me that you know what sounds not to use..
I call around town and have great results and have even sat down in an area just north of my area right after someone called it and had good results. I sat in the truck and listened to the stand and what they played.. I waited for them to quit and moved to a different spot and used different sounds and had great results.. I followed them for the better part of the day, and bagged a few coyotes. They figured it out and waited for me.
They asked what i was doing,
I was using different sounds and setting up differently to give me the advantage. I did a stand with them, and they changed their pattern. I don't know if they did better.
I can't and won't tell you the perfect sound, because the perfect sound is the one that gets them to come at a dead sprint, but it changes by the day and hour.. But if you are playing a sound that isn't working, throw the kitchen sink at them, and see what works.
Have you found any areas that you could not call in a coyote? I have found areas that I think get hammered by predator hunters and its very difficult to call them in...
I don't fight it, I go to areas that others do not and get into critters..
