Things are coming along with the Weatherby, I am starting to see patterns, finding out what it seems to like and finally got a nice load that I can load a box of. The rifle seems to like heavier bullets, it shoots 115grn Nosler ballistic tips and Barnes 100grn TTSX very well. The 80grn TTSX with H4831sc do ok for now, they hang just under inch. I am going to get some Reloader 17 or maybe some H4350 to try with the lighter stuff. Reloader 22 seems to be doing the best with H4831 right there with it with the 115grn ballistic tips. So far the winning load is 54.5 of RL22 with a Barnes 100grn TTSX loaded to 3.100". This load shot consistent 3/4 inch the last time at the range when seated at 3.090" per Barnes. Today I shot them at 3.100" and the group shrunk to a consistent 2/3 inch. I am happy with this as it is very consistent and seems to be responsive to OAL changes. Fit and finish of the rifle is awesome, the action is very smooth and reliable......overall I am becoming more and more happy with it.

I shoot the 100gr TTSX also in my 25-06, Really struggled to find a load that I was satisfied with. 55 gr. of RL 19 was the best for me, Averaging around 5/8 @ 100 yds. So far I've shot 4 critters with it, Two bucks, A bobcat and a coyote and nothing has took one step .

In my Rem 700's, I ran the Speer 100g btsp for deer and 87g spt for coyotes. Speer sealed the deal on accuracy vs sierra and nosler.

Every gun is different.

The toughest cup and core bullet in 25 caliber is the 120g Hornady hp.

Sierra makes a 117g btsp and semi point. The semi point is an unbelievable killing machine.

I ran IMR 4350 with the 87g speer and R#19 with the 100g speer. Best accuracy was with about .5g less than max load for that gun, and I bumped the shoulders back a tad with the Forster brand of Neck sizer which is an excellent neck bumping die.

Winchester brand of brass was very tough, and I used 9 1/2 with the 87's and WLR with the 100g.

Velocity node on the 87's was 3600 and 3375 on the 100's. I used the varmint model rifles up in Nevada were we could see the coyotes coming in from far off and long shots were normal.

I got into the 25/06 for coyotes after Harold Broughton, a Texas county trapper, barrel maker, and benchrest shooter encouraged me to use it. Harold got quite a few shots at 500 yards and he said that the Swift he had was petering out at that distance. However, his wife said that she was not going to give up on the Swift. Harold went to the 257 Roberts ackley improved which as the same ballistic's as the 25/06 in a shorter COAL.
Harold liked 100g Ballistic tips at 3300, it is just that my rifles would not shoot the bug holes with them as they would with the Speers.

I shot out a Ruger varmint, Rem varmint, and a sako varmint in the 25/06 shooting chucks, coyotes, and jack rabbits. Few calibers are as versatile as the 25/06, and the 25/06 hits like a gravel loaded Mac Truck!
