Varget or H380 for 22-250?

I have a couple different loads that my Savage shoots well. One load with a 55 grain V-Max shoots great with H380 and another with a 40 grain Ballistic tip shoots very well with Varget.

H380 is supposed to be the magic powder for 22-250, since the 38.0 gr. is the perfect amount of powder with a 50 gr bullet.

My gun shot both well. The H380 meters much better, but I am going with the varget for the temp sensitivity issue. However I haven't had any issues with 380 yet, just haven't shot it in a wide range of temps.

Neither. But depending on the bullet weight. For a 55grn bullet i use 8208 xbr and for a 69 grain bullet i use 4007 ssc. I have varget and h380 and never use it, so it will most likely get dumped.

Started out with H380 with the time proven formula of 38.0g of it and a 55g bullet and that was good for a while.

Discovered Varget and like the lack of temperature sensitivity since my hunting with that 22-250 covers from 105* to 15*.

Fortunately my 22-250 shoots most everything under 55gr well with many different powders including H380 and Varget. However my go to load is 37gr of CFE 223 under a 50gr. vmax, zmax, or varmint extreme at 3,900 fps give or take a few fps. Minimum load, maximum speed, deadly accurate, and cleans up quickly. I love it in 22-250.
