Varmint Masters BR Pivot Benches

Looking at one of these as a simple, handy, portable lightweight shooting bench. I know I could build my own and save $$, but I'm thinking this may be the way to go.

Looking for first hand experience. Is it stable and would it be good for pdog shooting?

Is the Lite version any "springier" or less stable than the std unit?

Can you post a pic...I want to see the 'cadillac'.

Most of the ones I see don't have a seat back and if they don't they won't work for me at all.

yep.......while you're shootin it not a big deal. When you are not it is. Mine has a seat back and I wouldn't trade it for one without but thats just me.

I suppose I could take the med-high back seat and air suspension off my John Deere and mount it to one, but I'd prefer it to be at least somewhat portable...

TDMax, I copied the BR Pivot bench and I can attest the the stability of them. I scaled most of the parts off of their website, by using the dimensions that they give for the table top. The main "mast" or post I used was 4" in diameter with 1/2" wall...aluminum. The top I made by taking 3/4" plywood and gluing/screwing two pieces together. Another I made I used 1/2" plywood and put 3 pieces together. (used the 1/2 because it was oak veneered.)The legs I did not spend the time on to mill the webbing into. That would have cut weight a small amount, but this thing is so heavy that a couple lbs saved wasnt worth the trouble to me. If I get a chance I'll post up a couple pics tonight. Oh...if theirs is as nice as mine, and I;m sure it is; it is the Cadillac.

I'd like to see one in person. What do they go for?

This whole thing would be a much easier decison if I could see in person. The higher price isn't always better. I just found that out when pricing a $119 vs $89 double rifle case at Gander Mtn. The $119 was a bit nicer in the hinge and handle dept, but the $89 unit just felt better overall.

look at Lone Star Field Produts in this site. Click on there site to see our new DVD. I have owned every rest there is. NOTHING beats the VRS SPEC-REST. Just set up your found out chair and set up our rest and your ready. It is portable, solid and works. We are taking groundhogs out to 1000 yards with this rest.

please order the vrs Spec-Rest soon if you want to hunt varmints this summer. We are overwhelmed with orders from law inforcement/ government departments. It takes us 3 weeks to complete 1 rest. We will have 100 units finished soon. Earl Fairman 412-818-9170. This a high quality rifle rest.
