I got to playing with my Kimber Hunter. It shoots 1" groups at 100 yds with CCI velocitorss. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I want to put a compact 4-12X scope on it for varmint hunting. I was looking at the Burris rimfire/airrifle scope with the balistic plex. Is there anything better with a 32mm objective? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I know most don't like Simmons, but me and my Ruger 10/22 love my Simmons 3-9X32. I have shot at things 300 yards with this scope and can see dust well enuff to walk in a shot. An sometimes screw around at 400.

Hi Frank /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Anschutz 22lr that also shoots sub 1" groups at 100 yds. with Velocitors. I use a Leupold VXII 4x12 40mm with paralex adj. it is about $400 but I feel it is well worth it.

I have that scope on a 6mm PPC, for my rimfire needs I put a weaver 4x16 V-classic with a .25MOA dot on a 17 HM2, its awesome for the money!

Well, I have five(5) HONKING BIG Simmons WTC 6.5-20X AO on couple of 10/22's, a CZ 452 .17HMR and Howa .243 bench rifle and other than the fact they do look kind of big on the rimfires ..are great scopes for the money, IMHO..usually $99. Have a pebble granite finish.

Oh..and you can leave your spotting scope at home as .22 holes clear at 100 yard.

I also like Nikon Buckmasters 6-18X SF with Nikoplex..have a couple of PD hunting partners that got the target dot and wished they had opted for the fine cross hairs.

Oh, I've got old eyes so have graduated from the 3-9X stuff out of necessity,

Two of the best rimfire scopes that would serve your purpose are the Leupold 3-9x EFR and the Weaver V-16. Both focus close and are excellent scopes. I have both.

I ended up with the Burris 4-12X. Burris sells direct to Hunter Ed Instructors at a great price if You use them in your classes. At 12X it is easy to demonstrate the efects of parallax. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif With the crosshairs right on at 50yds the second dot down is dead on at 100yds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif With a ranger finder, and this gun, scope, and ammo combination it almost makes hitting little criters too easy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif I might have to start shootin off hand. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I will have to take a look at Mueller scopes for my next project, I have been using Simmons for cheap scopes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I use a Leupold Compact 4x. Works for me. It is on a Ruger 77/22. Many a squirrel has met its demise with that combo.
