Vermont Rattlesnake Bite

Another example of why people should just leave snakes alone, you're not Jeff Corwin! If you have seen the effects of Necrosis or Compartment Syndrome, you would give them a wide birth. Anti-venom is not a sure thing either, some people react violently to it and it can actually wind up being the cause of death if administered. We don't live in Australia or Africa but we do have snakes here that can kill with the quickness and others that can and most likely will leave you with horrible scars and tissue loss.

This is not to imply that snakes are bad or evil, they are doing the same thing you or I would do in the same situation i.e. just defending themselves. They serve a very important service to mankind.

First thing is you need to know what snakes you can mess with and which ones to leave alone. If I didn't know I wouldn't have been bitten twice by the last snake I messed with. It was a Bull Snake and absolutely nothing happened to me, and they say a non venomous snake can make you sick when it bites you, I'm not really believing that now.
