video from a recent hog hunt

Heres a video of a hog hunt i went with rod pinkston of Jagerpro tactical boar hunting inc. i had a blast and shot 5 pigs myself killin 2 of the biggest boars one of which is on film, about a minute in and i also shot some of the footage in this video . the big guy you see crouchin behind the gun and walkin up to a hog is me aswell. i had a big time and am workin on gettin a guidin job doin this very thing for a living! hope yall enjoy.

yeah we didnt notice that until we were looking at the footage afterward. the wind was right so he wouldnt have smelled us but i was thinkin he should have been able to see us even in the dark out in that open field i guess he was pre occupied with tryin to get that shoat he was chasin

So what thermal imaging unit were you using and about how much does that thing cost???

its military only stuff i dont know who makes it but they run about 15K apeice for the rifle scope and a little more for the big spotting scope

Is the video actaully being shot through the rifle scope?

How are you getting "military only" stuff?

the first bit of footage was shot through a thermal camera but yeah everything else you see with the cross hairs is through the scope on the rifle. the rifle scopes are basically small computers and they have a plug in that allows you to hook them up to a camera to record whatever the scope is looking at. The owner of the business is a recently retired officer in the army, thats how he got the stuff.

He runs 3 browning BAR's with the thermal scopes and 1 bushmaster A2 chambered for 450 bushmaster setup with a gen 3 nightvision scope but he is about to get an R25 from remington to set up with a high res thermal for his own use. we didnt use the bushmaster a whole lot Rod dosnt really like it all that much but it was free. i shot my big boar with it though cause Rod needed some feedback to send to hornady( one of his backers) i wasnt at all impressed with it. in the video all it shows is the boar hittin the dirt the first time but the rest of the footage was cut out. the first round i fired hit him square in the left shoulder and he went down as you see in the vid, but after that he got back up.. twice! i shot him once in each shoulder and once in the neck, and still had to knife him. just goes to show how tough big boars are. i think the 450 would be a great round loaded with different bullets but imo the hornady flex tip sucks. i havent been very pleased with its performance on deer out of my 444 either.
