I just bought a Vortex Viper pst 2.5-10x32 ffp moa/moa reticle/turrets. First impressions of this scope are very positive. Excellent glass, excellent turrets, and it doesn't suffer from the out of focus sight picture I saw on the 4-16 Viper PST.
Optics are at least Leupold VX3 quality if not better. I haven't done anything more than mount it and play around a little bit with it because we've had extreme winds here.
Needless to say, I'm extremely impressed. I hope it performs as well in the field as it looks.
The only thing I really can knock it for thus far is the eye box at 10x. It's pretty critical, but definitely still usable. It's also to be expected with the zoom range on a scope of this size. The best way to put it is that for hunting scenarios, 8x is about as high as I'd want to dial; but for bench, target, or colony varmint shooting, the 10x is perfectly acceptable.
If anybody from Vortex reads this, please, PLEASE, use the same glass that's in this scope in your other offerings.
I think this may be the top optic choice for an AR15 in the sub $1,000 price range in this scope category.
