Volquartsen 17 WSM

I hear rumors that the Volquartsen 17 WSM's are beginning to ship. Anyone here have their mitts on one of these? I have a Franklin Arms 17 WSM, but it is a tad too heavy for me to lug around - if the Volquartsen is lighter and just as accurate, I may have to make a trade - but these have been forever getting to market...

From what I remember on the ones I held at SHOT, the Volquartsens are really heavy as well (listed as 9lbs-6oz). I'm looking at the new Franklin Armory F17-SPR to add to my other F17. It is supposed to be about 6.8 pounds, so it would be a perfect walk-around rifle for me.

Eric, have you had a chance to get your hands on the 17 WSM Jard is making??

Also, has there been any further word on the 17 WSM bolt gun from HS Precision???

I've only seen pictures of the one VQ has, sure looks nice!

This lighter one will be for carrying around for predator hunting. I've got some

I've got a Franklin 16" upper on it's way. Hopefully it will shoot as well as the 20" version but be a lot lighter. The 20" upper is about the same weight as my 18" 243 upper. Too heavy to be carrying in the field all day.
