More bells and whistles to use while looking thru 3rd rate glass. Most are punch drunk off the great warranty claims that it takes a toll on their eyesight so they tend to overlook the scopes real issue.. Coke bottles for glass.

Plenty of companies offer cheap priced scopes just like vortex.
They offer a pst model that has crap glass and known to fail often.
You could spend $1500 + on a razor and have a nice scope or just get a nightforce and have some resale later on.
I have owned plenty of vortex over the past few years and sold them all, they just dont cut it for me.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I have two Viper PST FFP scopes, one is 1-4x, and the other a 6.5-24x, as well as an HSLR. I have had ZERO TROUBLE with any of them. Crap Glass?... as compared to what? A top end USO, or S&B, that's comparing apples to oranges.

As far the dollar for dollar reference, I was referring to clarity, range of adjustment, illumination etc.

Something else I feel is being overlooked in regards to the great customer service they are known for. People like to twist it as to their products are always broken so they have to have great CS just to stay in business. Fact is, if that were the case then Vortex wouldn't be in business very long, if they were constantly replacing or fixing "chronically plagued optics" for free; surely it would be a landslide into the profit margins, and their doors would close. They Have the CS and warranty they do, because in fact they don't have to do a lot of warranty work due to manufacturer defect. And from outside appearance at least, they seem to be growing and not struggling to stay afloat because of an over log of trouble crap scopes....

Like I said, I agree there are other better scopes out there. In their price point though; It's dam tough to beat Vortex.

Here's a view through my 6-24 Viper PST FFP "coke bottle glass" at my 1550 yd target.

The big difference is that unlike Foxpro... Vortex IS NOT even close to the best scope on the market.

That's a HUGE difference no arguing that. It's sad that "the best" caller on the market has so many issues. If im paying top dollar for a scope or a caller car tools ect. I expexct YEARS of problem free use under normal use. Its also great that vortex has that kind of warranty and is not the best. I have a vortex scope and binoculars and for the shooting I do, the places I hunt and the rifle it sits on and the price I paid it exceeds my expectations. Now the day I (if ever) can afford a 3000+ dollar custom rifle I will look at the top echelon stuff.

SWFA SS scopes offer more bang for the buck ,those vortex viper scopes are problems waiting to happen ,alot of people have figured that out, myself included.
