Vortex Eagle

Not the Strike Eagle, just the Eagle. I assume its a new model from Vortex Optics. I wanted something with a lot of power and not the huge tactical looking scopes that most companies are leaning to. This one is going on the Charles Daly mini Mauser and a big clunky scope just wasn't going to work for me. I got the 4-16x42 and it comes with side focus and one inch tube. Just in house inspection, the glass seems very clear. Weighing 16oz and 13" long should be fine on the little rifle.

I was looking for something small yet with ample power. I'm hoping this fits the bill. It wasn't expensive so if it doesn't work for me I'm not in to deep. I'm not a big knob twister and this scope is capped. Reticle has graduations and isn't real busy and I like that to. Probably sight in at 200yds when I find a load but the way it is shooting factory Hornady 32 grain, I may just stock up on it. LOL, getting lazy!!

This is nomenclature off the box.

P.S. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on an optic until I get to shoot this rifle some more. As of today, I have 9 rounds down the barrel but if it shoots like it did, a better quality scope may be in order. Time will tell. This little scope may be all this rifle needs. Who knows???

inquiring minds wanna know.... lmao

I wish I could give you a better review, LOL. I headed to the range to get the new scope zero'ed. It poured down rain all the way there. I was hoping it would let up by the time I got there and it did.....long enough for me to hang a target, then it started again. First hot did break paper but was about 3" left but horizontal was good enough. I gave it 12 clicks right and fired a few more rounds and was still just a fuzz left, maybe 1/8", but still in the bull. Plenty good enough that if I was shooting at a critter I wouldn't miss. Got tired of the rain and came home. Sorry but that's all I got for now.
