Anyone else seen this problem from vortex?
If you dont want to trust a brand of scope because it had a problem then I am not sure what scope you can trust since every manufacturer out there has had scopes with problems. You don't have another firearm at all that you could take on the hunt?
I agree. Bought a new Leupold VX3 back in December and the windage turret was inoperable. Sent it back to Leupold, got it back and the adjustment worked but the turret was very difficult to turn and when I did turn it, dandruff looking stuff came out of the bottom of the turret. Sent it back again received a new scope in return. I will still buy Leupold. I was mounting a Viper PST a couple of months ago at work and the elevation turret cap was screwed on so tight I couldn't loosen it with my fingers. Wrapped a piece of leather around the cap, used some pliers and instead of just the cap coming off, the turret came off too. Had a [beeep] of a time getting the turret screwed out of the cap without scratching anything.
Things happen and I figured what happened with the Viper could happen with any brand. It didn't stop me from ordering a Razor Red Dot last week.
