Vortex Ranger HD 3000- Yeah or nay?

I just picked up a set of these a month or two ago and I am not sure I did the right thing. Its hard for me to hold them on a targeted item to range and push that damn button to get it to activate. Maybe its a learning curve, I don't know. Buyers remorse right now.

What do you that have them think about them?

I don't have the newer Ranger, but I & a buddy both have the Furys, and have been more than pleased with them.

Although the majority of the usage is shooting PD's off the bench, so both arms have solid footing.

It’s kinda hard to use them to their full potential unless you’re glassing off a tripod. The Razor 4000 is really good for just pressing against a tree or fence post and shooting a range. I’ve used the 4000 to range steel targets out to 1512 yds. IMO, the best combo is a good set of binocs and a 4000.

I’ve had the vortex 3000HD for a little over a year, no complaints! I shoot rifles and 3D archery.

I can often use the rangefinder to both range the 3D target and locate the target rings instead of pulling my binoculars out - so I don’t need to lay my bow down.

I am able to range most archery targets without support. I usually need additional support to range rifle targets.

I want a set of range finding binos to reduce my equipment list, but by the time you get good optical quality the price is steep!
