Vortex Spitfire 3X ???

I was comparing the Spitfire with Primary Arms prism 5x prism sight. For less money and a better to me optic I went with the Primary Arms.Glass is very clear and using the acss optic is very easy.

I had a spitfire 3x, bought it because the dealer said it was night vision compatible, but nope they aren't. I used it a little bit but had it mounted forward on my rail to use with the PVS. I sold it to a buddy, but I really liked it for anything out to about 200 yards worked great. If I would have had another upper to have used it on I would have kept it. No experience with the primary arms for comparison though.

I like the idea of an etched reticle. Not sure how it will work with my vision? Got my first pair of glasses last year, bi-focals... Well I can tell it is time to go back to the eye doctor again. They must be going downhill fast.

I can see fine distance wise but reading is getting hard....

You may talk to your eye doc about a set just for shooting that are not bi-focals. It seems they can be rather troublesome depending on how they are set-up.

I got nervous about not really knowing how I would like a Spitfire type sight. So, I ordered a Leupold 3x9 Mark AR...

I will find someone with a sight like that and try it. Looks simple to use, quite a few guys around here have gone to reflex and or red dots on their shotguns for deer season.
