VORTEX Spotting Scope

for spotting 30 cal holes @ 500, i would of chosen the razor HD... @ least from my experience i could see 6mm holes in white paper @ 800yds.

My step dad just purchased a Viper HD and we used it on a deer hunt in WY. I was really surprised at how nice this scope is for the price. I have a 20-60x65 Swaro HD and I wouldn't say it is comparable, but I would put it up around a Leupold Gold Ring spotter.

You also can't beat the warrenty with Vortex. I have a rifle scope and I am very pleased with that as well. If I only had a budget of $1000 or less I would get the Viper HD.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. Very nice scope with lots of cool features but not worth the money for me. I took it out shooting at 400/600 yard targets and just wasn't able to see enough difference between the view through the spotter compared to my rifle scope. Even though the rifle scope didn't have the magnification, I felt it was a clearer view of what I was looking at.
