Vortex Viper 4-16x50mm Hs LR

So thinking of upgrading my optics. And looking at the Vortex Viper 4-16x50mm Hs Lr Model. I have read quite a few things on here about the Vortex Viper and seems like for the most part people really like them. I guess my questions here is the scope good enough to take a 400, 500, 600 yard shot. Obviously there is a big chance of user error on my part, but is the scope of high enough quality to be constantly effective at these ranges. Would you recommend anything different? Wish I could afford a nightforce but that is probably not going to happen in the near future.

Thanks in advance

Iv got a 2x10x44 HS and a 4x16x50 PST. Making 400 yd shots with both no problem (thats how long range is). Like the glass and the 2.5x10x44 is holding up to 300 WSM.

The PST was making 1000yd shots off of a 338AX (not by me)

The only problem I had was when a smith had the wrong zero before he put a custom turret in. Vortex took care of it and had it right back to me even though the smith made the mistake. Vortex has great people and you can call and talk to a live tech in just a few minutes.

Can anyone comment on differences in the glass between these HS scopes and the PST scopes? Same thing, or?

I too am looking at the 4-16 HS LR or the PST.

Since I do majority of my hunting in low light conditions I opted for the PST since they have the illuminated reticle. Also, the BDC is the only reticle available for the HS.
