VX II questions

We are on the verge of an ice storm here so if I don't get you thanked for your responses later please aceept my thanks in advance now. I have done some searches in the old topics and can't find my answer so here goes... I have an older bushnell 3200 elite 4x12 on my rifle and was wanting to upgrade the glass. Is the leupold VX II the way to go for the money? I really think I want the leupold product (made in the US, warranty, etc) and that product line is in my budget. There is nothing wrong with the bushnell, I just have that "new scope Itch" that needs scratching. Thanks again for all the help.

I just bought a VX-2 3-9x40 to put on my AR. I use to have a Bushnell 4200 4-16x40 on it, and it was a fine scope, I just prefer the Leupolds. I'm in the process of replacing all of my scopes with Leupolds.

I hunted with a couple of new VX2s this year and love them. They are definitely better than the 3200s IMO.

I never thought much of 3200 glass either, but not bad scopes for the price. I have some new model VX1s that are also better than the 3200s IMO.....

Thanks much fellas. I'm not really near any place to actually look through the vx2 so I thought I would get some opinions. This was exactly what I needed.

I have an old VX-II 1-4 that's got around 35 years on it without a single problem. That's as good a definition of customer service one could ask for.

There is nothing favorable with the 3200 over the VX-2. The VX-2 is about the best deal going for hunting scopes, currently.

You guys are starting to confuse yourselves.

Bernie's scope has to be a Vari-XII.

The scope in the pic has to be a late production Vari-XII. A VariXIIc. That just so happens to look just like a VXII. (I know this because of the logo).

Now the new model is called a VX2.

So you have VariXII, VariXIIc, VXII, and VX2.

The new model is a far cry better than any of the rest..........

I run a couple VX II 2-7x33 scopes on 2 of my Marlin Levers guns, a 444Marlin and a 30-30. I will never change these setups and plan to maybe get 1 more in the future. Great scope for the money, and made in the USA.

The VX2s are good quality scopes for the money. I've got two, both 2-7x33s, one on my Knight muzzleloader & one on my Marlin 336. Great scopes for the money. All the other scopes I have (~6 of them) are VX3 3.5-10x40s which are very good quality. IMO you can't go wrong w/ a Leupold!
