I've never used a vx2 but there a lot of guys online that say that they are basically the same scope. All the Redfield's I've looked through have been very clear and ive never had a problem with durability.

you might want to actually read the stuff in the 3 links you posted. NOBODY in those 3 links is saying a vx2 is the same as any redfield scope.

With Slick on this one!!! Someone is really trying to convince someone about Redfields.

When I said they were basically the same scope I meant Leupolds in general. But they are made in the same facotry. Look guys I'm not trying to piss anyone off. Someone asked about the Leupold scope and I chimed in with my opinion on it. I saved some money going with a Redfield and was trying to help someone else out.

Bradley,
Welcome to Predatormasters. Not to be argumentative, however... yes you saved some money but you did not buy a scope equal to the VX-2 from Leupold. Maybe the lesser VX-1 or Rifleman, which certainly do cost less. They cost less because of fewer features, coatings, ect. Kinda like saying, I bought a VX-2 and saved some money over the VX-3 or VX-6, but hey they are made in the same factory so it's all the same right? It just isn't the same. The gun counter guy either lied to you or you simply misunderstood or drew the wrong conclusion. Did I miss your point or does that make any sense?

Only the revolution series in even made in america, the rest are are made in philepines, or China. The revolution should be viewed as a rifleman with better turrets, or maybe a vx-1, if you're a gun shop guy on commission. Redfield is in no way an equal to leupold, and it is simply illogical to think that Leupold could sell the scope for $400, but also chooses to sell the same thing as a redfield for $200.

I wont get in on the debate here other than to say I have a couple of the newer Redfield scopes and they are really nice for the money, maybe not quite a Leupold but you certainly wont be disappointed with what you get.

Our Leupold dealer rep told me the lower end Redfield has the same glass as the Rifleman and the higher end one has the same glass as the VX-1.

Where are these $300 Conquest found?
