Walmart Selling All AR's

Quote:
Finding a 4473 filled out and signed at Wally World on a specific gun, and then finding that gun for sale the same day unfired and new-in-the-box on an internet forum might give them a reason to suspect intent. And it would also give them all the evidence they needed to prosecute the case.

I just bought a Windham 223/5.56 SRC mod. WW-15 with 30 round clip, and hard case for $350. It was the last ar they had left. I've looked online and they have great reviews. Do any of you guys own one, and how do you like it?

That's what I bought. I liked mine so well, I decided to keep it instead of a Bushmaster AR that I'd bought several months ago. However, the powers that be, that run this place apparently don't think that a person is allowed to do that. My feeling is that there are some people, and I'm not calling names, who didn't get in on a good deal, and are peed at those who did. Getting back to the WW AR, the reviews are all good, and it just felt better in my hands than does the Bushmaster. There is nothing wrong with a Bushmaster, but just didn't need it and thought I'd sell it.

It's not just the semi-auto's. They are moving the slow movers at loss prices to make room for new inventory. Most of the good deals happened last week, just worked down to the ar's this week (they were reduced but not so much). Wal-Mart: I always end up with more than I went in for: sigh. I went in last Tuesday the 11th for a water hose repair piece and wound up with a Savage 17hmr for $64, a Remington Versamax for $449, and an Remington 887 for $124.

Last year, Walmart was running the 700 ADL's on special for their Black Friday sale. I bought two of them, and after the Remington rebate of $35 each, I think I had around $275 each in them. Both were in 243, one a youth model, the other a 24 inch barrel model. I bought the youth model for my grandkids to use, and it's a good little shooter. The other 243 shot so good, that I decided to spruce it up a little by turning it into a BDL and adding a new stock. It's a real tack driver, and has become one of my favorites. So, I read on a site, and won't say which one, that these Walmart 700's were not REAL 700's, and were junk. Apparently the author of that post was peed because he didn't have the good smarts to get in on a good deal, and decided to trash those who did. The same thing is happening now, because there are some who missed out on the Walmart AR deals. My only regret is that I didn't find out about sooner than I did. I would have gladly bought a couple of more guns. It's foolish to pass on deals like they had going on.

Guess I'm just lucky; Walmart saves me LOTS of $$$$$$$. Four stores in town and 3 do not handle firearms at all, let alone and AR's. I'm told that the one clear across town has a very few guns, but nothing of note, so I never enter the sporting goods (fishing) dept.

Regards,
hm

The WW AR is what I got also. Really like it also. Just for reference there was no intent on anyone to make a sale at the time of purchase. Also not condemning the practice but nobody I run around with either buys or sells weapons at flea markets the Internet etc... and I did not know guns were advertised on this forum. Again I am tickled with the WW. Richard

I saw this thread and headed right down to the local WW hoping to get a 308 and they were all out. All the local WW's are out of AR's.

Noticed on Saturday the a Walmart in St George, Utah had a DPMS AR10 for $600..

If they did it here I missed it. Stopped by this evening & no AR's. One Mini-14, some 10-22's. the only deal was a 597 / cheap scope for $99.

If I had found a deeply discounted AR I likely would have bought it for my wife, but sadly none to be had.

I also just saw the news that ALL wallyworlds that carry semi autos will be selling them due to "slow" sales...more like they are afraid to sell them and be held responsible for the end use IMO. As long as we can get a deal buy them up!...that is what is left if any...ahhaa

slow sales is likely an accurate statement. Starting about a year ago we seem to hit the point where backlog demand had largely been met & sales experienced a huge drop off. It was described as "you just about can't give one away".

WM has always had a gun catalog of box stock guns & could order what you wanted if they didn't stock it. I'm now curious if they would be willing to do that with an AR? Meaning they might be OK selling one, they just won't stock them.

Walmart is very well known for it's policies of "if it doesn't sell, we don't carry it", and "if we can't order a million of them at a cheap price, we won't carry it". Several years ago, we noticed that a particular grocery item that we sometimes bought was not being stocked anymore, and we asked why. The person that was stocking that department told us they quit carrying items that didn't sell t a certain level. I suppose it works in the gun department the same as in the grocery department, as well.
