I was in my local Walmart store this evening 1-14-13 at around 6 30 pm. Went to check on some 223 ammo. None in stock, I asked the clerk at the ammo counter, if any 223 would be arriving any time soon? His reply to me was.

" We ( walmart employees ) just got word today from corporate, that Walmart has stopped ALL AMMO purchases from the ammo distributors until further notice." effective today 1-14-13.

I said just 223 right? his reply again was "ALL AMMO shotgun, rifle, pistol."

He urged me to call the corporate number and make a complaint.

ANY OTHER WALMART EMPLOYEES out there that can confirm what i was told?????

They are not stopping the sell of ammo. The article stated they waiting to see the outcome of the bills before restocking the shelves.

I just got off the phone with a manger at the Cheyenne , Wy.
Walmart ask about Walmart not selling ammo.
She told me that Walmart has not stopped selling ammo and they are ordering it how ever they are not able to get any in. Thats the reason for the empty shelves.
My only question is - why can't they get any in ?

The local Walmart got a shipment in yesterday. They've put a 2 box limit on ammo purchases and most all was gone in less than 24hrs.

Heard on radio today, walmart corporate has stopped ordering any loaded ammunition at least until hearing what the proposed 2nd amendment infringements are. Adds to the laundry list of reasons I have to never step foot in there, walmart as a corporation should be taken down on theft charges, believe me I am a "vendor" and see what they do to honest companies.

My Walmart 15 miles away has plant of ammo, and then other Walmart 20 miles away has bare stops on their shelves as of Sunday night, but no mention of no more ammo.

Hence why I reload. And for my rim fire, I stock up all the time. Good luck guys that are trying to get factory stuff.

I suspect that last week, Biden, either promised them something, or threatened them with something. This administration is worse than the mob ever was.

Walmart could be lying in their denial of this news, to save a few customers. Store managers got their info somewhere. Time will tell the truth.

Might just be me but i try not to deal with Walmart unless it a absolute necessity , seems the rural local shops have everything i might need on the shelf so far.

Here is a question (and I know I sound like a hick but) where else do you shop that is a major store? K-Mart stopped a while ago, Target never has and none of the Food Stores ever have.
